Four unique classics, each with its own story, were recently sold at auction. We have all the details about what makes these vehicles stand out in the world of classic cars.

In this blog, we’ll give you a glimpse into the cars that were auctioned, including a 1977 Ford Bronco, a 1949 Bentley Mark VI Saloon Coupe by James Young, a 1968 Lincoln Continental Sedan, and a 1955 Buick Century Riviera 4-door Hardtop. 

1977 Ford Bronco 302 

1977 ford broncoThe 1977 Ford Bronco 302, recently sold for $52,500, underwent refurbishment, including body repainting and replacement of suspension, steering, and braking components. 

Finished in faux-weathered two-tone green with black upholstery, it showcases modifications such as a suspension lift, Bilstein shock absorbers, and LED headlights. Additional features include limited-slip front and rear differentials, aluminum wheels, BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A white-letter tires, and a roll bar. This Bronco, acquired by the seller in December 2023, comes with service records and a clean New York title. 

Inside, stunning black upholstery with modern amenities like Bluetooth connectivity and an Alpine digital stereo adds comfort. The rebuilt 302 ci V8 engine promises reliable performance.

Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. With recent servicing, including transmission and differential maintenance, it offers a dependable driving experience.

The five-digit odometer shows 98,000 miles, approximately 400 of which were added during current ownership. The total mileage is unknown.

1949 Bentley Mark VI Saloon Coupe by James Young

1949 bentleyThe 1949 Bentley Mark VI, a right-hand-drive two-door saloon coupe crafted by James Young Ltd of Bromley, England, was initially sold by Frank Dale Limited of London, England. 

This particular model, one of twelve coach-built C10N-specification aluminum-bodied examples, has a rich history. It was registered in Germany before being brought to the US and settled in California in 1978. 

Acquired by the seller in 2022, it underwent notable maintenance, including brake system overhauling and tire replacement.

Exterior features of the Bentley include distinctive details like a centrally-mounted driving light, trafficators, and rear-hinged doors. Its gray finish, possibly repainted before 1978, adds to its timeless appeal. 

Inside, the tan upholstery with maroon piping exudes elegance, complemented by wooden picnic tables and a wood veneer-trimmed dashboard with a speaker grille. Equipped with a replacement 4.25-liter F-head inline-six engine and a four-speed manual transmission, it promises a smooth driving experience.

The $31,000 sale includes the manufacturer’s literature, historical documentation, and recent service records, ensuring the new owner’s peace of mind.

1968 Lincoln Continental Sedan

1986 lincolnThis 1968 Lincoln Continental sedan impressively shows a distinguished Admiralty Blue Metallic finish paired with blue vinyl and cloth upholstery. Powered by a robust 460ci V8 engine mated to a three-speed automatic transmission, it offers a comfortable and powerful ride. Notable features include a black vinyl top, 15″ steel wheels, and reverse-opening rear doors.

Equipped with modern conveniences such as air conditioning, power-adjustable front seats, and power-operated windows and door locks, this Continental sedan ensures a pleasant driving experience. 

Recent maintenance includes:

  • Replacing front brake calipers and pads
  • Installing new tires
  • Adding an electronic ignition system

Externally, the car presents chrome bumpers and body trim, quadruple headlights, and a power-operated antenna. Inside, blue vinyl upholstery with cloth inserts dominates the seating surfaces, complemented by wood trim accents and a push-button radio. The wood-trimmed steering wheel, mounted on a tilting column, fronts a 120-mph speedometer and fuel level gauge.

Powered by a 460ci V8 engine, this sedan delivers ample performance. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed C6 transmission. Sold for $45,000 with a clean Florida title, this Lincoln Continental sedan is ready for its next journey.

1955 Buick Century Riviera 4-Door Hardtop

1965 buickThe 1955 Buick Century Riviera four-door hardtop, recently sold for $12,561, holds a history dating back to its purchase by the seller’s father in 1986. Following a refurbishment in the late 1980s, the car transitioned to the seller’s possession in 2023. 

Adorned in a striking two-tone blue with a white top and blue vinyl upholstery, it is powered by a robust 322 ci V8 engine paired with a Dynaflow automatic transmission.

During the refurbishment under the seller’s ownership, the car underwent a repaint and chrome replating, revitalizing its exterior. While minor imperfections, such as a dent on the passenger-side quarter panel and chipped paint, are evident, they do not detract from its overall appeal.

The car exudes a classic charm, equipped with black-painted 15″ steel wheels and Buick-branded covers. Inside, the cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in blue and white vinyl, complemented by blue cloth inserts. 

Modern amenities include a Sonomatic AM radio, heater, and fold-down center armrest.

Under the hood, the Fireball V8 delivers a spirited performance, showcasing its factory-rated power of 236 horsepower and 330 foot-pounds of torque. 

With shop manuals and spare parts included, this Buick Century Riviera offers vintage allure and practicality for its new owner.
