According to their statistics, there are an average of 300,000 drunk/drugged driving incidents per day in the United States, and annually, there are over 1 million arrests made for intoxicated driving.
So this holiday season, remember a few simple tips to keep our roads safer and to prevent accidents and injuries:
- Always designate a driver while you’re making plans for the holidays! Don’t wait until it’s too late and make the mistake of thinking you’ll be fine without one.
- Make sure you know where your children are and who they are with. You don’t want your kids getting into a bad situation themselves, and not knowing where to turn.
- Get yourself out of uncomfortable situations. If a friend offers to be a designated driver and then that friend has a few drinks, don’t hesitate to change your plans and call a cab!
Remember, when it comes to drinking, it is always better to be safe than sorry. Please drink responsibly this holiday season!
