A local teenager, JD Casper, thought he was being treated to a day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway when the Make-A-Wish Foundation contacted him. Casper had wished to meet driver JR Hildebrand, but the Make-A-Wish Foundation ended up treating Casper to so much more than just a few laps on the track with his favorite driver.
When JD Casper, a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma patient, opened his garage, he found his 1974 Pontiac Grandville convertible had been fully restored to its original condition. Casper had received the car as a gift after his first car was wrecked in an accident with a drunk driver, but the Grandville was an old, beat up model that was in desperate need of a major restoration before it was fit to drive.
Once the shock of the big reveal wore off a bit, JD was taken to the Speedway where he rolled the top back on his like-new car and took it for a spin around the track a few times. Watch the video below!
