It’s happened again! Another incredible barn find has been discovered, this time in Europe. A forgotten collection of 60 extremely rare and valuable cars has been found in France. These cars, known as the Baillon Collection, will be going up for auction at the Artcurial’s Retromobile sale in just two months’ time.
Discovered only three months ago, these 60 cars are part of what was once a vast collection, belonging to a French shipping magnate who had a proclivity for cars from the pre-war era. He collected pieces like a Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder, a Bugatti Type 57 Ventoux, a Maserati A6G 2000 by Frua, a Talbot Lago T26 Saoutchik cabriolet (once belonging to King Farouk of Egypt), and much more which we will see at auction time.
According to historians at Artcurial, this collection was split up after the owner faced multiple problems with business through the years. The collection was largely gathered between 1953 and 1966 and seems to have been forgotten about through the years. The piece of most notoriety in the collection will likely be the Ferrari California, which no one knew was in existence after it disappeared into this long-lost Baillon collection.

Out of the entire collection, 20 of the cars will be sold for restoration and preservation. The remaining 40 in the collection will be sold for parts, and will still likely bring a hefty price since many of them are rare, vintage finds.
