Four stunning vehicles sold on the auction site Bringatrailer.com this past month. These remarkable examples demonstrate the unique stylings and specifications of various automotive manufacturers, including both domestic and international automakers. Each car showcases its own distinct charm and provides a window into motor history.
In this blog, we’ll take a tour of these incredible cars, including an MG 1600 Roadster, a 1982 Chevrolet Camaro, a 1956 Porsche, and a 1993 Acura NSX 5-Speed. While these cars have already left the online auction lot, there are still plenty of impressive offerings on the site.
Modified 1960 MG MGA 1600 Roadster
The first car on our tour offers an eye-catching and unforgettable style: the 1960 MG MGA 1600 Roadster. The British manufacturer MG unveiled the MGA at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1955.
This particular example features a gray primer finish, dual Lexan windscreens with aluminum frames, and a custom body-color tonneau cover on its right side. The car’s bumpers were removed by a previous owner and replaced by twin road taillights and a custom aluminum front valance.
The MGA 1600 Roadster sits atop Saab-sourced four-lug 15” steel wheels with spinner-style centers, and these wheels are wrapped in 165/80 Kumho Power Star 758 tires. Stopping power is provided by rear drum and front disc brakes.
The classic MGA 1600’s powertrain includes a rebuilt 1.6-liter 16 GA inline-four engine with replacement pistons, camshaft, pushrods, fuel tanks, and water pump. The powertrain also features an electric fuel pump and dual SU carburetors. The engine channels power to its rear wheel via a rebuilt four-speed manual gearbox.
If you take a look inside the cabin, you’ll see black vinyl bucket seats and color-coordinated carpets. It also boasts a stylish gray dashboard that matches its trunk compartment and engine bay. Other notable interior features include its banjo-style steering wheel and Jaeger instrumentation.
This iconic and well-preserved vehicle sold for $21,250.
1982 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Indy 500 Pace Car Commemorative Edition
Chevrolet only produced 6,360 units of the Z28 Indy 500 Commemorative Edition, making this car a rare find. All of these Z28s featured a Silver Metallic finish, Indy 500 graphics, and blue accents. This example features additional noteworthy exterior stylings, including replaced decals, a repainted hood and roof, a rear spoiler, and removable T-top roof panels.
The vehicle sports 15” five-spoke alloy wheels with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. It also has power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes, and the previous owner replaced its shocks and parking brake cables in 2022.
The special edition Camaro Z28 is powered by a 305 cu in V8 with a rebuilt four-barrel carburetor, and it powers its rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The car’s cabin boasts distinct blue carpeting and black cloth seats. Its equipment features include a digital clock, cruise control, power windows, and a Delco AM/FM radio. The cockpit comes with a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, sitting in front of an 85-mph speedometer, tachometer, and supplementary gauges.
This rare and impressive vehicle’s odometer reads 67,000 miles, and its Carfax report states that it’s never experienced damage. The seller walked away with $7,000.
1956 Porsche 356A 1600 Coupe
This striking Porsche underwent an extensive three-year refurbishment, and those working on this fine car completed the project in 2021. During the refurbishment, the Porsche received an attractive new silver finish to replace its original Silver Metallic (5606) coloring. Its Reutter body comes with many impressive details, including quad beehive taillights, gold color badging, body-color bumpers with bumperettes, square-edge door handles, and single-grille decklid.
The car also boasts 15” steel wheels that feature chrome hubcaps with Porsche crests, and the wheels are mounted with 155SR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Those who refurbished the vehicle refreshed its hydraulic drum brakes and replaced its wheel cylinders, master cylinder, and shocks.
A replacement 1.6-liter flat-four engine powers this stunning vehicle, and the engine features new pistons, cylinders, valves, springs, seats, rod and crankshaft bearings, and valve guides. The mechanics also overhauled the Porsche’s generator, starter, distributor, and Solex 32 PCIB carburetors. The car sends power to its rear wheels through a dual-mount four-speed manual transaxle.
This stunning vehicle’s cabin comes with reupholstered red leather that covers its door panels, dashboard, fold-down rear bench seats, and front bucket seats. Other notable cabin features include its black rubber floor mats, leather rear luggage straps, beige square-weave carpeting, a lockable glove box compartment, and a Porsche-branded radio blanking plate.
The lucky buyer purchased this remarkable vehicle for $161,000.
1993 Acura NSX 5-Speed
The last impressive car on our tour is a 1994 Acura NSX with an eye-catching silver finish and aluminum bodywork. The car comes with a rear wing, side air intakes, dual exhaust outlets, power-adjustable side mirrors, and pop-up headlights.
It rests on 16” and 17” seven-spoke aluminum wheels paired with 215/45 front and 245/40 rear Falken Azenis RT660 tires. Its braking includes NSX calipers over vented rotors at all four corners, and it includes a four-wheel double-wishbone suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars.
The car’s powertrain is made up of a mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 with an aftermarket exhaust system and VTEC variable valve timing. The engine has a factory rating of 270 hp and 210 foot-pounds of torque, and it sends power to its rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential.
The Acura NSX’s cabin boasts power-adjustable black leather sports seats as well as cruise control, automatic climate control, and stainless-steel door sill plates. The vehicle also includes an impressive Android Auto-capable Joying touchscreen infotainment system that’s linked to a Bose sound system. Finally, the cockpit features a leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel, an 188-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm redline tachometer, and various gauges.
This dreamy and sleek car sold for $65,000.
