If you are a classic car enthusiast like us, then you are probably no stranger to auction sites. One of our favorites which often features some breathtaking models is Bring a Trailer. You can find a wide range of cars on the site, dating back to the early 20th century. Today, we are featuring four notable models that recently sold at auction: a 1978 Ford Bronco, a 1972 DeTomaso Pantera, a 1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova, and a Mk1 Roadster.
1978 Ford Bronco
First up, we have a 1978 Ford Bronco finished in a classic red with some very cool and retro tri-color stripes. The car was originally refurbished by the previous owner before being sold at auction by the seller for $32,000.
In addition to the eye-catching paint finish, additional exterior features worth noting include a bright chrome grille, chrome bumpers, a black removable fiberglass hardtop, vent windows, a power-operated rear window, and low-mounted side mirrors.
This model also features Ranger XLT badging and 15” white-painted steel wheels, which are mounted on Kenda Klever A/P tires. Braking power comes from power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The vehicle also has a front stabilizer bar, locking front hubs, and power steering.
The interior is just as cool as the exterior, with bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with red fabric centers that match the red carpeting and doors. Interior equipment includes a push-button AM/FM radio, Bronco-branded pedals, crank windows, and a cabin heater. The black leather three-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant temp, and oil pressure.
Mileage at the time of sale was 68k, and power comes from a 400ci V8 which is routed to all wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case.
1972 DeTomaso Pantera
This cool 1972 DeTomaso Pantera was previously owned by former Senator P.J. Morgan of Nebraska before being sold at auction for $82,000. It’s finished in bright red with black detailing featuring Pantera GTS side decals.
Additional exterior features on this sexy sports model include riveted fender flares, a front splitter, removable glass roof panels, Carello driving lights, pop-up headlights, quadruple exhaust outtakes, and louvered rear intakes. It also has a rear spoiler that sits atop the engine cover.
The 15” Campagnolo cast magnesium wheels sport GTS center caps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs and the model rides on a four-wheel independent suspension.
Inside, you’ll find sporty bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl with cloth centers, which match the rest of the black interior and Pantera-branded floor mats. The equipment includes a GTS shifter knob, AC, an analog clock, power windows, and a JVC CD stereo which links to Alpine speakers.
The black three-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in black leather and frames a Veglia Borletti 300-km/h speedometer and matching tachometer. Gauges include amperage monitoring, fuel level, oil pressure, and water temp — all mounted within the center stack.
The mileage at the time of sale showed 22 kilometers and the power comes from a 351 ci Cleveland V8 featuring a four-barrel carburetor.
1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova
Third on our list is yet another muscle car-era classic painted in red — a 1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova. The seller acquired the vehicle just this year in 2023 before overhauling the brake system, replacing the fuel filter, and rebuilding the carburetor. It sold recently for $29,527.
The original factory finish was Emerald Turquoise on this model before it was repainted red under previous ownership, giving it that classic muscle-car look. Additional exterior features to note include a bright tail panel, a chrome fuel filler cap, and Super Sport badging. The 15” steel wheels also match the body color and wear chrome hubcaps and beauty rings.
This 60s Chevy model rides on KYB Gas-a-Just shocks along with four-wheel drum brakes and unassisted steering. The interior cabin bucket seats are trimmed in black and feature chrome backs, and the door panels and carpets are also color-coordinated in black.
Interior equipment and appointments include a B&M shifter, an Audiovox cassette stereo, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a 120-mph speedometer. Various aftermarket auxiliary gauges are also mounted below the dash.
At the time of sale, the odometer read 81k miles, and power in this vehicle comes from a 350 ci V8 with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor.
Factory Five Racing Mk1 Roadster
This stunning Mk1 Roadster is a Shelby Cobra replica, finished in a gorgeous metallic blue with twin white racing stripes down the center. The vehicle was assembled in the 2000s, modeled after the 1966 Ford Cobra, and recently sold at auction for $44,200.
In addition to the fiberglass, metallic blue body, additional exterior features include a hood scoop, fender vents, a single roll hoop, a LeMans-style fuel filler cap, and quick-jack bumperettes. The 17” chrome wheels are wrapped in Nitto NT555 tires and braking is handled by slotted and cross-drilled rotors with Baer calipers at the front.
This model was designed to ride on adjustable Koni coilovers and a live rear axle with Gordon-Levy three-link geometry. On the inside, you’ll find low-back bucket seats trimmed in black with Simpson racing harnesses.
Equipment includes a Proform Parts shift light, door map pockets, wind wings, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel. Instrumentation inside includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, fuel pressure, voltage, and coolant temp.
The odometer showed 6k miles at the time of sale and power is supplied by a 408 ci stroker V8 with forged internals. The engine is also fitted with a Holley Demon 950-cfm carburetor and includes an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold.
