Ford had huge success with the 50th anniversary Mustang celebrations last month, garnering worldwide attention with its debut at the New York World’s Fair. Ford previously announced that they would manufacture just 1,964 of the 50th anniversary edition, but it has now been revealed that there will be another car added to that number, an even more special, special edition; a 50th anniversary convertible Mustang.
This single 50th anniversary convertible Mustang will be raffled, with all of the proceeds going to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. So truly, anyone could have the opportunity to purchase this car!
The winner of the raffle will be announced on the Woodward Dream Cruise on August 16th. The winner of the Mustang convertible will receive the coupe with a special Wimbledon White exterior, the corralled pony emblem, full chrome accents, and the special “50 years” badge. The convertible will house a 5.0 Liter V8 engine that gets 420 horsepower and pulls 390 lb-ft of torque.
The convertible will also feature an engraved signature of Ford’s chairman, Bill Ford, and will have the 0001 of 0001 serial number on the instrument panel.
