Every year, the Artomobilia Organizing Committee works hard to début a fresh and inspiring automotive theme for the very popular and well-attended Artomobilia in Carmel, Indiana – and 2018 is no exception. This year’s theme features the Ford GT, the iconic car that roared back onto the scene in 2016, winning Le Mans while celebrating 50 years of automotive history. World-famous artists and automotive organizations are coming together at this year’s expanded Artomobilia Weekend to take Ford GT appreciation – and all kinds of classic, collector, exotic and racing car enthusiasm – to a whole new artistic level.
Capturing Ford GT Heritage
An absolute highlight of this Artomobilia experience is the Ford GT Heritage artwork, captured in an image that celebrates three generations of the beloved classic and represents decades of Ford Performance vehicles. As an homage to automotive art and design, our behind-the-scenes video gives you an idea of what it takes to assemble a group of iconic Ford GT legends for a world-class photo shoot – and produce the stellar image that is revealed in the end.
Auto Art for a Good Cause
The original artwork by Nashville-based automotive photographer Anthony Ross Tyler features five GTs in road and race trim, displayed in vibrant color through meticulous lighting, composition and photo editing. A limited number of this commissioned image printed on aluminum or Fuji Pearl Pro paper are available for purchase and ready to frame. All are expected to sell out during Artomobilia Weekend. Proceeds benefit Heart Reach, a nonprofit organization that puts defibrillators in the hands of police officers, firefighters and other first responders, with a goal of saving 40,000 more people every year.
The Events of Artomobilia Weekend
Yes! The Carmel Artomobilia has expanded to a glorious Artomobilia Weekend, Friday, August 24 thru Sunday, August 26. It now features three unique days of classic and collector car activities: the Fuelicious charity event, the Carmel Artomobilia car show and Shift, a new interactive driving experience. Fuelicious kicks off the festivities on Friday at the Lucas Estate. This exclusive evening that also benefits Heart Reach is designed to excite your senses through its refined setting, an upscale culinary experience and an exquisite collection of 50 automobiles to be appreciated by the world’s experts and enthusiasts. The 11th annual Artomobilia returns to the Carmel Arts and Design District on Saturday. It’s the largest and most eclectic Midwest auto show, with a wide range of judging and awards – and every year it has more entrants, so make sure you register your car by Friday at the latest. Finally, Shift kicks into gear on Sunday for a special tour of scenic Central and Southern Indiana backroads. Shift is all about enjoying the art of the automobile in motion, with 50 coveted spots available for the inaugural ride.
