At the January Barrett-Jackson collector car auction event, attendees teamed up to raise money for the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) and ended up reaching amazing goals toward helping this organization touch the lives of our soldiers and their families. When it was all said and done, Barrett-Jackson had raised $1,000,000 to donate to AFF.
A fact that most people aren’t aware of, the biggest killer of our American troops is suicide. In the past few years, the rates of suicide have surpassed the rates of soldiers killed during war-time, leaving nearly one soldier dead by suicide every day.
Soldiers who come home from intense battle often deal with debilitating physical ailments, require lifelong care and treatment, as well as suffer from serious mental disorders, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The AFF is an organization that works to fight back against those horrific statistics, offering help and hope to soldiers and their families, as well as burial services and financial assistance for those suffering from the loss of a loved one.
