This is Rick Drewry with Classic Auto Insurance at Detroit Autorama, 2020. We have a fabulous set of great eight cars that got revealed today.
Another one on the list that’s going to be competing for the Ridler Award is this beautiful 1955 Cadillac. If you look at the custom design, the custom suicide doors, the interior, I’ve never seen an interior this nice. It is amazing. With the custom-built paint scheme as well, and all the fab work that went into it, with the reverse opening hood, suicide doors, the interior, I know it’s going to be a contender. You never know, it may win this year.
Seven Years To Build This 1995 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
This car began life as a coupe, but Kory Gray, owner and lead fabricator of Iconic Metal Works had other plans. Making this two door 1955 Cadillac DeVille into a four door with rear suicide doors was a difficult task but needed to be opened up to show the car’s unbelievable detailed interior.
The interior was done by Mike Wray in Cayucos, California at Cayucos Auto Interiors. Talk about power, the engine is a duel-fueled 598 cubic inch Chevy big-block blown with a Procharger and fed with either 92 octane pump gas or racing fuel. MSD boost controller is mounted on the custom center console.
