The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette is full of surprises, one of which comes with the Performance Data Recorder and Navigation System package. As part of this new package, the 2015 Corvette comes with “Valet Mode” which will allow owners to set the car into a special monitoring mode any time they leave it with a valet.
The monitoring system include a high definition camera that records any movements from the driver’s point of view, an in-cabin microphone that records all discussions and actions within the car, as well as test measures that record speed, g-force, and RPMs. All of this information will be unlocked by the owner’s passcode, and it will all be displayed on the 8-inch color touchscreen in the cabin of the car.
The current model of the car has a much simpler version of this monitoring system, allowing the owner to set “Valet Mode” and lock the glove box and other interior compartments. The current model does not offer reporting on the driving habits of the valet, however.
