Estimates are coming in for how much people think the Bullitt star’s 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 will sell for at auction this August.
Reports are different for when Steve McQueen purchased this car (some say on the set of Bullitt, others say on the set of The Thomas Crown Affair), and immediately had the color changed from silver to its current “Chianti Red.”
We don’t know what the original purchase price of the car was, but we do know that other 275’s have recently been sold for outrageously high prices; one fetched $4.7 million at auction. With that information in hand, some analysts are saying McQueen’s car may fetch as much as $12.8 million this summer.
The Ferrari has had multiple owners since McQueen, one of which included TV’s Zorro, Guy Williams. The current owner purchased it in 2010, and is responsible for commissioning it to Ferrari Classiche for a full restoration.
