Did you realize that the McLaren name hasn’t been a part of the legendary 24-hour Le Mans race in over 14 years?
Instead, McLaren has decided to lay claim to as many titles as possible in the British Goodwood Festival of Speed. This year, McLaren has already announced that it will compete with the McLaren F1 GTR, the prototype of the McLaren F1 LM and the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail.
McLaren has already made its mark on the race, having only competed 4 times since its inception, but walking away over 10 of the race titles (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th twice, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, and 11th) in the four separate races.
Are you a fan of the Le Mans and disappointed that McLaren has been absent from this race for so long? Are you proud of the tradition McLaren is building for themselves as part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed? We are always curious what our readers think historically significant events like these!
