2013 SRT Viper

The Dodge Viper, now the SRT Viper, was originally produced in 1992. This sporty roadster had a triumphant unveiling at the April 2012 New York Auto Show. Sports car enthusiasts were greeted with an all-new body-style on a car that has the most torque in a street legal car. The 2013 SRT Viper is sleek and light, with a long hood, rearward cabin and sculpted body.

The SRT Viper sports an 8.4-liter V-10 640 horsepower engine with 600 pound-feet of torque and a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission. The new powertrain mounting system uses two hydromounts to control vibration. The Viper also features both electronic stability control and traction control systems as well as 4-piston Brembo brakes with fixed-aluminum calipers.

The new body shows influence of Chrysler’s relationship with Fiat and boasts carbon fiber which sheds 100 pounds. Super-formed aluminum is used on the sills and doors. The hood scoop pulls cooler air into the engine without mixing with the air needed for the radiator to ensure consistent power output. The interior features leather upholstery with technology such as Bluetooth, USB/SD/auxiliary connectivity, color touchscreen interface, and keyless entry/start.
