2007 Ferrari Fiorano 599 GTB
Ferrari owners are typically asked two questions about their cars – how fast is it? and how much does it cost? For a collector, the key question to ask is – what makes this car unique? We’re asking that question of our friends at Dream Makers Automotive about a rare 6-speed manual transmission 2007 Ferrari Fiorano 599 GTB gracing their showroom.
The End of the Road for Manual Shift V12 Ferraris
It’s hard to picture an Italian sports car without a stick in the floor but the Fiorano 599 GTB is the last Ferrari V12 to come with a gated manual transmission. Only a total of 30 were produced with 20 of those shipping to the U.S. It is an end of an era for the Italian carmaker.
A Legendary Engine Powers the 599
The 599 is introduced in 2006 as the replacement for the 575M Maranello. Styled by Frank Stephenson at Pininfarina and possessing the legendary Tipo F140C 6.0L V12 front engine, it is one of Ferraris most powerful production cars at that time. With a total engine displacement of 5999cc (from which it derived part of its name), the 599 is the first to produce 102hp per liter by a naturally aspirating 6.0L production engine.
What’s in a Name?
We know part of the 599’s name comes from the car’s engine displacement total but what about the rest of it? Fiorano is the name of the circuit test track that Ferrari uses and GTB stands for “Grand Turismo Berlinetta”, a nod to the stylish two-seater grand tour cars of the past.

It’s Everything a Ferrari Should Be
The 599 is everything a Ferrari should be – fast, luxurious, and agile. An aluminum chassis covered in a lightweight alloy results in the car weighing 96 pounds less than the Maranello. Not just lighter but faster, the 599 goes from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph.
Collectors Love Their Manual Transmissions
Whether it is a testament to our love of the stick shift or our need to “become one” with a sports car, classic collectors are not willing to let these cars fade into obscurity. There is something intrinsically satisfying in testing your driving skills with a manual gearbox while blasting down the road. Man and car working as one. Shift on, gearheads.
